Mary Sue was co-owner of Harris Training Center in Morriston, FL with her husband Robby Harris. She worked with the thoroughbred horses every day up until the month cancer took her in 2016. She loved going and watching her family barrel race, so the Mary Sue Harris Memorial Barrel Race was formed to keep her memory alive. The event brings contestants from all over Florida. The money made goes into a scholarship account set up in her memory. Each year, 2 Williston High School seniors receive a scholarship to help them further their careers through college or a trade school.
In March of 2023, Big Lick Gives donated to this scholarship fund to support local Williston High schoolers.
